Mountains Plains District Superintendent Billy Wilson reports two local Wesleyan churches are providing relief to different Texas communities. World Hope International is organizing to provide recovery services.
The Lone Star Cowboy Church in Mexia, is serving Rockport, located along the Gulf Coast. Relief updates are available on the church’s Facebook page. Persons interested in helping can also leave a message on the church phone (254-472-9092). Ministry team leader Shane Winters is traveling today; messages will be retrieved tonight.
Crossroads Church in San Antonio, located further inland, is ministering to the many evacuees being housed in the city’s shelters. Support information is available at firstname.lastname@example.org. Pastors Bob and Arlynn Ellis are distributing supplies to San Antonio shelters daily.
World Hope International is mobilizing to provide recovery efforts. Contributions for World Hope recovery efforts can be marked “ER Texas.” World Hope recovery plans will be posted as they develop.
“The Wesleyan Church is once again standing in the gap to serve those in crisis,” Wilson said. “Prayer is always needed as we seek to serve as we are able. This is an opportunity for our denomination to be the hands and feet of Christ. May God bless our service.”
